Location and Surroundings
Being the cradle of colonial life, the area is worth discovering. Famous beach-fringed Cerf Island with its world class golf course and supreme beach is just a short boat ride away. The falls of the Grande Southeast-River, can also be reached by boat and are also a sight to see. Ferney valley beckons with interesting nature excursions, rare plant and bird species and great views.
Further up North, the peace park in Pointe aux Lascars provides stunning statues and insights into Hindu religion; the ancient French well at Bras d'Eau provides glimpses into the past, while the monument for shipwrecked boat St Geran which has been mentioned in island bestseller "Paul and Virginie" can be visited in a small and idyllic village right by the Oceanside where the disaster took place.
